FAQs and policies
What to bring for your first clinic appointment
Please arrive at least 20 minutes before your scheduled time and bring the following.
- • Picture identification (required for all new appointments)
• Insurance ID card (required for all new appointments)
• Required co-payment/deposit/deductible (required for all appointments)
• Medications - Prescription bottles and over-the counter medications
• Any paperwork from your previous psychiatrist or previous psychiatric hospital (such as discharge papers etc.)
• All insurance/referral information.
Missed or late-cancellation appointments
Missed appointments and cancellations made less than 24 hours before your appointment are charged $75.00. Insurance does not pay this charge, so please let us know at least 24 hours in advance if you cannot keep your appointment.
Prescriptions and refills
New prescriptions usually require an office visit. Your provider will give you an electronic or written prescription unless you prefer to have it called into your pharmacy. Please be advised, you will need to provide the name and phone number/fax number of the pharmacy. Please allow 48 hours (2 business days) for prescription refills. Please note, that we will only provide enough of your medication refill until your next scheduled appointment with your physician.
NECC billing policies and Self-pay
As a courtesy, we check insurance benefits and seek to obtain appropriate authorization. However, we cannot guarantee payment by your insurance company or the accuracy of the information they have given to us. You are encouraged to call your insurance company to ensure that your services are covered and that you have the appropriate referrals and authorizations. If you or your legal dependents receive services from your health insurance company, you will be held responsible for payment of all non-covered charges relating to them. It is important that you keep us updated on any changes to your insurance coverage.
